POSITION SUMMARY

The Manager, Operations is accountable for the overall performance and effectiveness of assigned teams, while ensuring team is appropriately staffed with the right talent and managed to expectations to achieve business objectives.

The role may work independently or in partnership with other leaders to evaluate business needs and identify, build, and implement changes that create efficiencies, improve productivity, deliver quality, and achieve desire cost to serve. Drives effective change management within teams to ensure adoption of new technologies, tools, and processes. The individual shall conduct and join internal and external meetings regularly to support business.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • The duties and responsibilities of this position consists of, but are not limited to, the following:

  • Supervise and support the subordinate in the day-to-day overall operation for the accurate and timely in department to ensure operations is executed efficiently and with high quality

  • Resolve the daily problem or issue to ensure the working process can run smooth.

  • Providing timely responses, customer, and internal requests /notices

  • Manage individual & team performances and balance workload.

  • Responsible for profit and loss for this department

  • Establish good relationship with shipping line

  • Responsible for operational quality and corresponding KPI

  • Collaborating with other departments to ensure business objectives are met with business plan.

  • Act as escalation point and resolve cross team conflicts.

  • Escalate operational service issues to other teams or management.

  • Escalate unresolved operational service issues to next management level

  • Responsible for implementing new processes, standards, guidelines, system when required

  • Other tasks as assigned

QUALIFICATION AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in Logistics Management or any related field.

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience in freight forwarding business with hand-on experiencing managing air freight and ocean freight operations in MNC environment.

  • Must have knowledge of export/import operations and regulations.

  • Possess strategic thinking, collaborating & interpersonal skills, team leadership, and the ability to develop staff competencies with a hands-on and positive attitude.

  • Good team player and open mind and ready for rapid change

  • Proficiency in English communication both written and spoken English.

  • Ability to work well under pressure.

  • Decision-making and problem-solving skills

  • Strong computer skills.
